Each institution that participates in the development and self-regulation of the CAUS must develop and maintain diving regulations (Diving Safety Manual) that meet the CAUS Standard of Practice for Scientific Diving. If your institution plan to adopt the CAUS’ Standard of Practice, please let us know and forward any additional procedure you are looking to implement (per ex. for some speciality dives).  The regulations will be peer reviewed and comments returned within approximately two months.

The review of the CAUS entails initial and periodic peer reviews of participating members’s diving programmes.  Theses reviews may be accomplished either through submission of descriptive materials to the CAUS Standards and Procedures Committee or through an on-site inspection.  Unless otherwise stipulated by the applicant, the initial review for an organisational membership is fulfilled by submitting written documentation of recent diving projects and mode of diving. Copies of project proposals and dive logs are sufficient to meet this requirement.
